India's World cup win
India won the world cup again after a gap of 28 years. Its time to enjoy and appreciate the leadership shown by MS Dhoni and hard work done by his team. Indian cricket team has been no.1 test team for quite some time. But the No.1 position in 1 ODI ranking eluded them. Now they have achieved that too. Behind every such great achievement lies months of hard work, dedication and planning. Then comes the question of implementing the plan.
As Yuvraj Singh, man of the tournament, mentioned in first televised interview "I worked very hard on my fitness, fielding, batting and bowling". It is easy to understand how much hard work he has done. The result is obvious; he has 4 man of the match awards in this world cup. In one match he took 5 wickets. No doubt his hard work has paid off. Apart from that, one visible change happened under coach Gary Kirsten. Now all the boys look mature and more focused on performance rather than shouting at opposition. That energy they have focussed on their performance.
Even in final also, the team looked calm and composed. Even when chasing and having lost 4 wickets, Dhoni did not show any sign of tension or enxiety.
Today India is rightful claimant of world No.1 in Tests and ODI, much like Australia of late 1990's and early 2000's. But unlike Australia, our team is not arrogant. They are humble and dedicated the victory to Sachin Tendulkar. They know best the greatness of this man. And he is the single person who has contributed most to India's rise in world cricket.
Now we can rightfully say that India is world's best team.
