Mumbai attacks of 26/11
On 26th of November 2008, ten terrorists from Pakistan arrived at mumbai by sea and created havoc by shoooting at will. They lay seize at Taj hotel, Oberoi hotel and another house. They succeded in killing some 183 person including some brave policeman and army and NSG personnel, and they held up the gunfight for nearly 60 hours. Among those killed were also some employee of the Taj hotel who sacrificed their lives to save the lives of guests.
My question is not who did all this. Question is how long as a nation , we will continue to tolerate this. Pakistan continues to be in denial mode. They deny every thing, from citizenship of the perpetrators, to the existence of terror training camps on Pakistani soil.
But our people continue to be killed in their homes, in street and railway stations by terrorism sponsored by pakistan. It in not about Islam, those who mastermind these kind of attacks should know by now. But they are not stopping even if we pretend to know all that. The evil intensions of Pakistan are all clear.
They think they can pressurize us into negotiations over Kashmir by sustaining and supporting these kind of activity.
But no, our resolve is not that weak. We will not cow down to terrorists because of that. No matter how many such attacks they try. But it is also high time that we did somwething different from being so much defensive about such attacks.
This is not the first time an Indian target was attacked by terrorists. The mumbai attacks of 1993, parliament attack, and terrorist incidents in Assam are known to be handywork of same group of state actors, i.e.some or other aegncy in Pakistan.
So my question is, once again, how are we going to address this issue once and for all? Or are we doomed to be a termed as citizens of a weak nation? A state who can only oppress weaker section of society, with the help of lawas made by the British, or a genuinly welfare state where all citizens hold their heads high.
I am writing this blog so that people dont forget it after some time. Nor should they forget that mumbai is not the only target.Every terror incident in far off Assam has the the finger of Pakistan in it.
Secondly it is also true that, Pakistan will continue dilly-dally only as long as we allow it to do so. May be it is the right time to think about state policies and about overhauling state policies as a whole.
